Walkin Tubs

There are several available accessories that are available for most quality walkin tubs. A swivel seat is one of the most common, which makes it much easier to turn your body into and out of the tub. Many people use a bath lift so that they can independently take a bath, but they are also very popular among caregivers. If you are a caregiver, then you will likely want to ensure that the lift has a seat belt and chest restraint.

When you are finished in the bath simple press the button and you will be raised to the top of the bath to exit. The control pad is waterproof as it may get splashed and you won't have to worry. Some inflatable baths have suckers underneath to stop the lift from moving about and keeping where you want it to be. Unlike other walkin tubs, this has no metal parts which you may hit your arm or leg on, can also get cold and sometimes possibly rusty.

The original walkin tubs were an upright barrel that could be filled with water and was equipped with a stool to sit on. In Japan, this is still the concept used on their bathtubs, while western civilization took their tubs in a different direction with a shallower design and longer length. In modern western bathtubs a person can recline until the water reaches their chin. The barrel was not a comfortable, requiring the subjects to remain in the seated position.. The new deeper corner bathtubs allow for reclining to get into a comfortable position with the depth needed for enough submersion.

A bath lift is one of the best ways to ensure safety in the walkin tubs. They make it easy to transfer into and out of the tub. For safety reasons most use battery power and a completely sealed remote control that also floats. A quality bath lift has a built in battery gauge and will not lower unless the battery is strong enough to go back up again. This ensures that you will never be stuck in the bathtub. Most also have a reclining back so that you can relax in the premier bathtub safely and in a naturally ergonomic sitting position.

The bathtub rail should fit all baths and is easy to get out of the bath if anyone else uses the walkin tubs without a lift. Some inflatable bath lifts you can take with you traveling as they are designed to be packed compactly and easy to store. No installation, quick to set up and use.

Select Your Location

For use by individuals up to 400 lbs, or who may require a slightly reclined wheelchair whose depth does not exceed 45" Meets the needs of wheelchair users that require more space for larger size wheelchairs or special patient requirements.

The FAWSsit™ B5000 Bariatric is designed to offer all of the features and benefits of the S2000 Standard and the SS4040 Super Standard models, but gives added space to accommodate large sized wheelchairs, or even slightly tilted wheelchairs.

With the B5000, even morbidly obese individuals are able to receive a safe, effective shower, and are able to easily reach all body parts with the customized shower head assembly.

The slightly lower height, at 44”, enables care attendants better access when reaching in to the larger unit to assist with bathing.

As with all FAWSsit™ models, the germicide-imbedded vinyl shower curtains can either be fully enclosed for privacy, or can be left open in front to best enable care attendant access. And, only FAWSsit™ portable showers have a triple layer, fiberglass-mesh imbedded waste water pan to hold up to multiple years of repeated roll in and roll out without breakdown or tearing.

No “foam fatigue” occurs with the FAWSsit™ pan design, so water spillage is NOT a problem, as can happen with unsupported foam sided drain pans.

The FAWSsit™ T4000 Tall shower is also an ideal alternative for use in homes that need a full shower stall, but do not have room for a permanent or even semi-permanent structure.

The T4000 Tall shower, like all FAWSsit™ models, is shipped COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED, but folds flat to less than 8 inches in depth when showering is completed. This is a great alternative for cabins, basements, garages, or other locations where a shower is desired, but space is a concern.

The T4000 shower is also fully accessible, so it can be used by both the able-bodied and disabled in a family.

For emergency services and hazardous materials decontamination, time is of the essence for getting a shower facility functional. This unit can be mounted, fully assembled, on the side of a fire truck, or stored in an emergency closet for immediate use when needed. Exposure to hazardous materials especially calls for IMMEDIATE decontamination and for containment of the waste water.

ONLY FAWSsit™ portable showers enable this immediate use capability and waste water disposal system for easy bladder containment.
